Organic Turquoise

We have just finished a great educational page on Organic Turquoise. After spending our entire adult lives in the American Turquoise business, we have a lot of experience in this field and we have a lot to talk about! When we began, in the late 1960's, there was no  question - is it natural, is it fake and so on. Today, Turquoise is one of the top ten most popular gemstones on earth and growing to the top five rapidly. There have been some giant bumps created due to the ways of the world and evolution of man.
There is still plenty of Turquoise in the ground which will be accessed in the future, but, as of 2013 there are only 2 actively producing Turquoise left open in the United States and the largest producer of Turquoise in the last 25 years, China, has put a moratorium on the mining of Turquoise as well as many other of their natural resources. We are presently in a Turquoise Crisis!

Why Organic Turquoise

As China was gearing up to stop the mining of Turquoise, their industry was figuring out how to substitute real, organic, natural Turquoise with fake Turquoise. They did just that and so now they call their treated junk Turquoise "Natural Turquoise" It is not natural by American Standards, however, China writes their own book on what Chinese standards are! Natural Turquoise to the American Turquoise industry means "organic" - not treated or altered in any way! To the Chinese, it means something different and that is why we have written this page on "Organic Turquoise"!

Fake Turquoise

Maybe some day when the Chinese are ready to face the world and talk about their actions and practices they can write the book on substituting fakes for the real thing! The Chinese are now doing every thing in their power to halt the mining and exporting of "real Turquoise" from their country. They are promoting the manufacturing and exporting of fake Turquoise to the world and they do not give a dam about the history, spiritual values or any other values of the real natural gemstone, Turquoise.
